so since this message board is so quiet and nobody ever posting things i thought it would fun and intresting to introduce ourselves and maybe a little about ourselves, and you can add on your journey to your weight loss too.
so i will start..

Hi Jennifer. My name is Jaye Jaye, and I am an Army wife. My husband is an Air Traffic Controler. We are currently stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama. We have been married for four years. I am 34 years old. I am rasing a ten year old son, and a soon to be nine year old stepdaughter. I am a certified Elementary teacher. I taught middle school Language Arts for eight years; but after I married my husband I have pretty much been a stay at home mom. I did work as an assistant last year; but I would really like to get back to the classroom.
I started the WLS process in April when we were in SC. My husband got orders for here midway through the process, so I had to start all over when we got here. It is a bit disappointing to say the least....but I shall trudge forward.
It is great to meet you, and welcome to the board.

Hey Jennifer! Great idea! My name is Nicole....I'm 22 and my husband is a MA in the Navy. We are stationed in Meridian, Mississippi, but are originally from Texas. He is actually deployed right now, but he will be home in November so I am counting the days for that (72) I had surgery on the 6th of August, and I can't wait to surprise him when he comes home. He knows I had the surgery, but I am not letting him see me anymore until he gets home so hopefully I will have lost quite a bit of weight. Anyway, so glad to have you on the board! Let us know how things go.
Hello Everyone
My name is TaReesa. I am an Air Force Wife. We are currently stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. It is in a town called Goldsboro. We have been here for 2 years. I have adjusted to this place. I am a social worker and I love it. I have 1 little girl and 2 dogs. My little girl is 7, my chocolate lab, Abbee, is 4 and my Rottweiler, Bear, will be 1 September 5th. I am in the process of trying to get my approval for WLS. I have to have my pschy eval, endoscopy, and my ultrasound. Then we submit. I have my ultrasound monday and my endoscopy wednesday. My pschy eval is September 17th, unless I can get it moved up. I'm hoping I can. I am so ready, but scared. Nice to meet everyone.
Hi Jennifer, My name is Diana and I have been Married for 33 years to an Army Ranger. I am the old one of the bunch as I am 58. My husband has been retired since 1997 after 40 years service. He has spent 8 1/2 years in combat. I am very lucky because I was in Jr high and High school while he was deployed. That was a different war and you can figure out where he was for the most part. His last assignment was with Army Reasearch and was based at Gowen field in Idaho. One of the projects he worked on was the Tank simulator.
We have 5 grown children and 6 grandchildren. Our youngest daughter lives at home, but she takes care of herself. So, that leaves me free to work. LOL I worked in a hospital laboratory for 30 years but I design homes now. Ya, I'm kinda weird. I tell people that all chemists end up designing houses, don't they? That is a long story.
I had a RNY on August 7th, so I am still in recovery stage. I have lost over 20 lbs so far. I would like to lose faster, but It isn't going to happen for me. At least my BMI is below 40 now and I weigh less than I have in 15 years except for a stint with Phen fen. So, I really have no complaints. I have several comorbidities that have made life difficult for several years. The GERD and raspy voice from that is already gone.
It is really weird to have trouble getting 350 cal down a day.
This is a small forum, but a very good one. Lots of support to be had here. Diana
Hi Jennifer,
My name is Andi and I have been an Army wife for over 13 years. My two boys, baby girl (8, 6 and 9 months) and I are currently living in Oregon while my husband is in Iraq. He returns at the beginning of November and we will be PCSing to Fort Bragg, NC (reporting November 25th).
I had RNY on July 6th, so I'm 7 weeks out now. I've lost 45 lbs since surgery and 54 lbs from my highest pre-op weight.
Glad to meet you and I'm glad to read the other stories as well. Great Idea!!
Andi
