Post-op Pharmacy questions
What does the base pharmacy carry that you use? What don't they carry that you need to buy?
I'm trying to figure out if I need to start stocking up on chewable vitamins and the other things I'll need now. Limited income here, so I don't want to have to spend $200 at Walgreens right before or after surgery if I can spend $20-$40 each pay period from here until the surgery.
I know it varies at each base, but I just wanted to see what you have been able to get right there. In all honesty I don't even know what is generally recommended after surgery other than Flinstones Vitamins.....
So.....what do you take? What can you get from the pharmacy? What do you buy at the store?
I've never seen vitamins RX'd but I guess you could get your PCM to try. I bought my vitamins at Costco, big containers (300 pills in each), of chewable mulit and a chewable calcium with D. The multi I believe was around $8-9 and the calcium was $6 something. This will last me for 150 days, almost 4 months, and only $15, so you won't be spending $200 like you are thinking. Oh, I do take a B-12 everyother day (5000mcg), it desolves in your mouth and that was $5 at RiteAid. There are 30 in the package, so that will last me 2 months.
Hope this helps!!
