OT: Flags of my fathers
My DH got the movie. We jus****ched it. About half way through I was getting really concerned about him. I asked him about it and he was not happy. He didn't want to turn it off. I think he had to fini**** He liked Band of Brothers and Finding Private Ryan, but this movie has really upset him. It was too close to what he went through in Viet Nam. He won't talk much about his experiences because it is too hard. He spent 8 1/2 years in combat and since he is a Ranger you can imagine what he did and where he was. You have to remember that he was in during the early years there. He was in a command position and sent many men out knowing they would not return. My heart is breaking for hm right now. He didn't need to see this. I wish I had seen it or knew more about it before I let him watch it. His blood pressure just went up 20 points. (he has to check it before he takes his meds night and morning) He is trying to read now to get his mind off of it. I have never seen him get this upset about a movie before. Most he can watch over and over. "Tora,Tora,Tora", "In Harms Way" and even "Wind Talkers". We have "Band of Brothers" and he has watched it repeatedly. They have asked him to come back in the Army. I know it would be too hard for him to go back. Enough is enough. I just needed to say something and this is the only place were I can. Thanks for listening and I understand when you or your DH have hard times. After being deployed they need a lot of understanding and they often don't want to revisit their experiences. Thanks Diana
