Tricare Prime (North Region)

I have talked to Tricare so many times but they will not tell me what they require for the gastric bypass. I had seen a nutr. months ago and all she said was to keep a 6 mths diary of the food I eat....never told me to get weighed every month....does anyone have any info on that??? I have a 8 mth diary but no weigh ins and Tricare won't tell me anything. Am I going to have to do ANOTHER 6 mth diary???

Tricare doesn't require a diary. Have you seena surgeon? What you need to do is get with your PCM and have them put in a referral to see a WLS Doctor. The WLS Doctor will take it from there.

I talked to me PCM, on base, about have gastric by-pass. Within 3 days Dr.Lords office called me to register me for the seminar. That was it, no jumping through hoops, nothing. The only problem I am having now is getting the surgeons office to send in my paperwork to Tricare for final approval for surgery. But that is not a problem with Tricare, I have heard all good things regarding them. So good luck!
