Looks like you are doing pretty well! Your experience sounds just like mine while there. I felt better by day 2 tho, thank goodness cause that gas was hard! Congrts on kicking butt and losing 34 lbs!

I can't remember where I got it. Most likely photobucket. I've had it for years in a myspace image folder on my comp. I didn't want to use my pic so I grabbed that one instead. lol

My experience was just fine in TJ. I had never been to Mexico and honestly I had never planned on going either. I felt completely safe the entire time... and not once did I feel like I was in trouble. When traveling, everyone needs to be on alert a little more than usual.

imonalot37 - I was a size 16 too, 205 lbs, and I am 5'5". I DEFINTELY got the "you're not big enough to get this surgery." The whole reason I went to Mexico. ;) I tried lots of things and nothing worked. Spent THOUSANDS at the gym! waste! I sure the heck wouldn't make surgery my first choice. lol People don't get it so I just didn't tell people. My husband knows, and about maybe... 6 family and friends. I even had a WLS friend say I was too small for it and if she had only weighed what I did, that she would just diet and lose it... I was like.. are you for real? Then why did you let yourself get so out of control when you were my size? I'm trying to do something NOW before I get carried away. I couldn't believe I didn't get the support from a person who was going through it with me. lol Ah well... WE know it is right for us. WE know we need help just as much as  people 50 lbs heavier than us. We are all fluffy... regardless of a few extra pant sizes. You can't please em all. ;) If it was so easy to "lose it on your own" ---nobody would be gettin this surgery!!! I didn't want to spend $5200 and have the risk of complications for the heck of it... I felt it was my only option. I made the choice for ME.. and I am absolutely 100% glad I did... because now I am a size 12 and still losing.  I look and fell amazing!!! You will too! We will just get to goal sooner than others. ;)

COngrats and hope you have a speedy recovery. Don't worry about not getting sleep... you'll be sleeping for surgery. HAHA

Travel size shampoo, conditioner and soaps... Recovery house didn't have anything. Ditto what everyone else said. PACK LIGHT! LOOSE clothing, elastic band is great.
Gas strips (although I don't think they helped), chapstick definitely, something to read... If you plan to follow up with friends on the computer... bring a cell phone or ipod that accepts wifi cause I had the HARDEST time using their laptop. I GAVE UP! lol Thankfully I had my laptop with me upstairs, and OH kept me busy while I was there. lol I'd say keep your coordinators number on you incase you need to reach them... but that is a joke. LMAO

OOOhh I have to stay away from almonds. I LOVE them. Pre-op I use to buy the big bags at costco (trying to get healthy) and I would sit and snack on them ALLLLLLLLL flippin day. lol They are so healthy if you eat a handful... however they are not all that healthy if you eat the bag! lol oh yea, and TMI -- they are extremely gassy! HA

I can't take anymore SF Pudding. BLAH... I bought a bunch for the soft diet and man.. I just don't care for it anymore. It's so sweet. I definitely prefer salt or sugar. Gimmie a bag of potato chips and I am set. haha KIDDING! Proud of myself tho cause I have not had any greasy fatting kettle chips since I had surgery. I have snacked on some corn chips but that is because it goes down SO well and makes me feel good if my tummy is acting up. lol Anyone else notice how good corn chips feel on the stomach?

Eggs, cheese, jerky, trail mix... all of it sounds pretty good. I haven't eaten breakfast this morn. Thinking a nice tall glass of protein shake will do it.. blah.. lol
