How long ago did you do surgery. Any tips for when I am there? I leave from Atlanta on June 2nd and will have surgery that day. Crazy...and one of my biggest fears is for some reason they won't be able to do surgery...that would just be awful....
Thanks for sharing your experience.

I followed some woman named Mel on You Tube ad she mentioned them. I was going to do Mexico Tourism but decided I wanted to do A Lighter Me because it is a US company with a 5 star Better Business Bureau rating.
8 days before I go and have it on the same day. I am nervous and have gone through a lot in making the decision however I am just trusting that it is the right one. All I can say that it has given me hope when I couldn't find any and thought I would just have to settle for being a fat middle age woman....NOT HAPPENING!
If you want more info about what is happening with me feel free to check out my blog on here at KLee7.
Let me know what you do!

Directly through. I cancelled and went with dr. Illan through his coordinator now. I've talked to the doc on the phone and feel way more comfortable.
Hey guys,
This may sound like a really stupid question, especially coming from a nurse, but after getting your surgery in Mexico, what kind of pain meds did they give you post op?? and did they send you home with a prescription? If so, how did you get it filled?? and what was the prescription for? I am going to be returning to work less than 2 weeks post op and have the feeling I'm going to need some pain meds along the way...
Hi my name is Dennise and I just emailed for all info to do surgery with a lighter me. I'm so nervous I really really want this. How did you find out about them?
There does seem to be a few red flags. What company did you use to book the surgeon or was it directly through the surgeon?
Congratulations on your weight loss. It is so nice to hear good things about Dr. Q. since I will be there next week. I am going back to work 1 week after my surgery. How did you feel 1 week after surgery?
Sorry for the unoriginal subject line..So, I am brand new to posting in forums and I hope I do this right! I have considered weight loss surgery on and off for a long time, but always felt like I should try harder on my own. I should develop a normal and healthy relationship with food and eating. Well, I am 49 years young, I think I am realizing that food and eating just won't every be a normal thing for me, so what is it that I am waiting for? More wasted time..nope. I am done with that. I have an 11 year old son. I want to be around and active for him for a long time. I am sick and tired of feeling tired more often than I should and hate the ugly over priced excuses for plus sized clothing. So all of that combined with a few other factors has brought to this point. I am ready to take this step. I have now researched surgery to death and surgery in Mexico since it is the only way I can afford this..I over think things and analyze things down to the molecular level. I just need to do it.
So, I have communicated with the team from Dr. Quinones' office. Pompei. So far everything has been pretty simple. I am used to things being too complicated.
I submitted my medical questionnaire, things look good. I just need to make the appointment and find a flight at this point. I have a concern that has nothing to do with the surgery. I am big and like big folks, I dread the airplane seats. Torture! Humiliation! I am usually travelling with my son, though and I don't mind squishing him and having my hips move the arm rest a little. This won't be the same deal when I am travelling without him. I cannot do the same thing to a stranger. I am a size 18-20 pants. More often sz. 20 these days, less often size 18. I wonder if I am going to be violating space and size policies. I flew to Florida in March and the flight down was just a tad squishy and of course I sat next to my son. The seat belt fit me, but with no real space to spare. The flight back, well, it was just totally cramped. The worst was that the seat belt did not fit me. I just threw a sweater over my lap and prayed that I would not smack my head in the case of turbulence. I know I will buy a seat belt extender for my next flight. That won't help with the width of my hips though.
Size 20 women. Did you have weird time with seat space issues on your flight to Mexico? How did you handle it?
It seems like facing a surgery and a life altering decision would be at the forefront of my mind, but it is the seating issue that concerns me right now..
My surgery with Dr, Quinones was a exit I had a good experience and the staff and nurses treated me very well.
I think I even got better care then if I would have had surgery here in the states. Dr, Quinones and his staff treated me like their fam.
They were always asking if I needed anything and if I was in any pain and if I needed med for the pain. They did not just drop me off in the border they took me all the way to the air port and made sure I got on the plain alright. If I ever have to get re sleeved I would go back in a heart beat.
