I had mini gastric bypass with Dr. Illan and have had no complications. I am almost 5 1/2 months post op and have lost almost 70 lbs. He is a wonderful doctor. He has great bedside manner. He cares about his patients and is one of the best bariatric surgeons in Mexico.
I would love to hear about your experience. I have not made a set in stone decision and want to talk to as many people as possible to make an informed decision on who will do my sleeve this year.
I can't help you with any if the doctors you named, but if you decide to check out Dr. Antonio Esquerra at Mexicali Bariatric, I'm happy to chime in.
Good luck with your research!
Hi guys,
This is my first post on here. I have been reading your posts for a few weeks now. I would really like to hear from folks on who they chose for their surgery and why. I have looked at several and have narrowed my choice down to a few. My choices as of now are Dr Quinones, Dr Juan Lopez Corvala, Dr Louisiana Valenzuela and Dr. Ariel Ortiz. If any of you guys have used one of these surgeons for surgery, I would like to hear about your experience.
A little about myself, I am an RN who has struggled with my weight since my late 20's. Now at 47, I have diabetes and sleep apnea. I do not eat fast food and feel I eat pretty healthy, I just tend to over eat and seem to always be hungry. I plan on having my surgery around November or December of this year after I am able to save for the surgery.
Thanks again for your input and I look forward to sharing in my weight loss journey,
Matthew
Anyone use Citerra financing? They approved me for $8500 and when i got the contract it said i was being loaned $13,021 and that my payments were 390 for 51 months. I declined it and called them. The woman loan agent told me i was misunderstanding it. That 13, 021 was the end total of the loan with ALL the interest and that gee payments of 390 a month aren't for 51 months. They say that payment is above the minimum and will have the loan paid off sooner. The paperwork seems to be contradicting what she is saying. Is like to hear from anyone who has used them to help clear up the discrepancy. Thanks!
So I'm applying now. They agreed to give me $8,500 but the document they sent me to sign says I will be paying 20.99 interest on $13,021. The woman on the phone says the $13,021 is the total amount paid at the end of the loan including all interest. But no where in any of the documentation does it mention my original loan being 8,500. Is this legit? Or are they trying to get me to sign that they are loaning me $13000 but really only loaning me 8500?
Thanks for the information. Was the $3800 just for the hospital related expenses? Did you book your own hotel stay for postop follow up?
Hello! I'm in the process of getting worked up for surgery in the Las Vegas location. Just wondering if your got yours done in Las Vegas or Mexico?
Red flags have popped up after my most recent conversation with Bill at Baja Bariatrics this afternoon. He raised his voice and spoke over me with threats to cancel my surgery after asking him for a general timeline of the 4 days in Tijuana... this, after I made a $500 deposit. He led me to believe that it is only through him that I can be treated by Dr. Illan. Is that true? He said that no one has ever asked for that information in the 4 years he's been coordinating these surgeries. Really? I told him that it's a reasonable request being as I'm spending $4600 (the new price) out of pocket. Is there a way to circumvent these people and work directly with Dr. Illan or the hospital? I can book my own hotel and drive myself to the hospital in TJ. Please advise.
