Hi AK girl,

I hope this answers your question. I am having my surgery done by Dr. Guillermo Alvarez. When I received all my information in a gift box there was a break down off all the people on Dr. Alvarez's team. Dr. Gabriel Rosales name and information was in there. He is the surgical assistant that works along side Dr. Alvarez. If you want to see more about him check out Endobariatric.com. Now you might have to forgive me if there is another Dr. Gabriel Rosales out there. But the name jumped out at me because I just read his bio yesterday.

Hello!

I am new here sorry if this question has been asked before. I have been doing a lot of research trying to pick a Doctor for the Vertical Sleeve Gastric. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

I have found Dr. Gabriel Rosales and have watched a few blogs of past patients that had, had surgery with him. I have tried to research him but really do not find much on him.

Who did you have do your surgery? How was your stay? How was your surgery? How many days Post OP are you? I know each doctor will have their pros and cons just like anyone. Who do you suggest? Do you have any links to share good or bad about Doctors.

As this is the 1st time for me are there any questions I need to ask?

Please help this is all so new to me and i'm scared I will not ask an important question or fail to do enough research and miss something important.

Thank you

AK girl

Hi Kim,

Dr. Enrique Arias is one of the world's finest and most experienced bariatric surgeons. He founded Obesity El Salvador and has done thousands of gastric bypass procedures. Although we have many excellent surgeons in our network, including in Tijuana, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, and Mexicali, we're currently running a special for Dr. Arias on bariatric procedures. You can find out about him and the sale here.

He's located in El Salvador, where prices are typically higher than Mexico, but with the sale, the price is comparable. If you only want to go to Mexico, we have doctors located in Mexico in our network, and all have been thoroughly credentialed and have reviews on our site. But you won't find a more qualified surgeon than Dr. Arias. Plus, we'll help you through the whole process at no charge as part of these sale packages.

Hi All -

I had Gastric Sleeve (US Doctor) in March 2013 and lost 85lbs at that time (60% of excess weight). Almost immediately I started regaining weight when I hit my lowest. Today, I find myself very unhappy and am researching Revision surgery to Gastric Bypass in Mexico because I am paying cash.

I spoke with Dr. Pompa in Tijuanna on Friday and was impressed with her over the phone but have not been successful in finding any recent reviews on her and specifically those targeted towards Gastric Bypass so I'm reaching out to this group for recommendations.

Who did you have Gastric Bypass surgery with, in Mexico? Would you trust them to do another surgery?

Thanks so much!

Kim

the only group I would recommend after having 3 surgeries on MX is Mexicali Bariatrics.

i would not use dr pomp's at all as ppl in the past have reported that the sleeves she does are hour glass shaped , diagnosed by X-rays and scopes. I would've afraid she would not do a bypass correctly either.

Topic: Thoughts on traveling/surgery alone?

I'm very close to scheduling my VSG with Dr Lopez Corvala. I'd love to hear from those who did surgery in Mexico and went alone.

Thank you so much. I have been waiting on an answer from someone about this. I have found a doctor that will check on me. My primary is very old school, plus she is getting ready to retire. She wanted me to do on my own and like others I have had failure after failure. So all and all how do you feel? I know everyone is different and it comes down to following directions and how your body reacts. But do you feel well?

I haven't had any in-office follow up since having my surgery in Mexico. I plan to get my labs done at my next annual exam, which I will do around the time of my 1 year surgiversary. Not having follow-up is the biggest downside to having surgery far from where you live but it was still completely worth it for me.

Just a few questions?

Did they use the glue on your wounds or sutchers?
