Topic: RE: thinking about going to Dr Kelly, which hospital is better? angeles or mi dictor?

I had my surgery in MExicaly no tijuana, but my best advice is go to the Hospital, either way you will paying more than 50% less that you have to pay in US for surgery, and been in a full service hospital worth every penny!! in my experience the nursing care was awesome, the food, everything and I stay there for 3 days.

Hi all - I am justmom also coop1977's  Mom -- I accompanied Janet to Hospital Angeles and totally back everything she says.  I myself have never met a more genuine, meticulous, warm person than Dr. Kelly - his attention to "every" detail was amazing.  He even came to see "me" minutes after Janet's surgery and described the process in great detail - just to make sure I didn't worry.  At no time did I feel concern because of his calming presence.  Hospital Angeles is amazing - our hospitals in Canada are clean and great, but I'd have to say Angeles is the best.  It's a private hospital and Janet and I kept referring to it as the hotel - it was that great.  But, the most important decision you will make is choosing Dr. Kelly as your surgeon.  He even said "keep in touch, we are family now"  Linda

Topic: Is a Lighter Me one of the best places to have your surger?

I'm looking into getting the process started and doing my homework. I'm thinking of going with a Lighter Me. I've been checking out there website which of I'm scared going out of the U.S. just because what if something happens and you are back home? I see the pricing is considerably cheaper than in the U.S. Can you all please give me some insight on A Lighter Me and is there any others that are better? I need advice please. Thank you

I went to the Florence hospital in Tijuana with Dr. Ismael Cabrera last week, other doctors work there too. It was a bit older but it was a great experience. $4250 plus flight. They renovated the upper levels and turned it into the hotel so u do not have to leave the building for recovery and there are doctors downstairs if you need them during your hotel stay. You spend two nights downstairs in the hospital. All the staff spoke English and were great.

Topic: RE: Getting serious about A Lighter Me... Seeking A Lighter Me patients for advice

My surgery cost is $4400 (Includes a one night stay pre-op, pre-op testing, the surgery, anesthesia and all 'normal' care post-op, 2 nights in the hospital, and 2 nights in a hotel post-op to continue my recovery.  My air fare from Texas is only $275 round trip... Additionally all transfers to and from the airport.   My insurance does not cover ANY Bariatric Surgery, so my choices were self pay in the States and pay $15K or more, or Mexico.  Although I have pick A Lighter Me as my program in Mexico, I feel I have done an extensive investigation on the surgeon and his technique, that is why I chose Dr Ortiz....   My sister had her VSG in July 2014 and I can attest that I have not had to jump through as many hoops that she had to jump through.

I wish you all the best!
