Thank you I'm so excited.. Wait until u see my post how MBC tried to trick me and another girl by trying to send their driver for us.
Britt, I dont know what they put in my IV when I was in the hospital but they gave me Mavidol SL to bring home.. I've only needed one but that maybe because I had single incision.. And not the 5 incisions.
Hi there!
Way to go on taking these steps!
I was sleeved 5 weeks ago .... I experienced some gas pains that caused some vomiting .... But it passed within 12 hours of surgery .... I was still sleepy from surgery so I would wake with pain, vomit and fall back asleep ..... So it wasn't too bad.
After the 12 hours ... It was smooth sailing! You shouldn't lift anything heavy (over 20 lbs) for 6 weeks .... I was able to do my desk work after the first week ....
Since you said your job is physical I would recommend 3 weeks off so you can rest and get your fluids in .... But if you are required to lift heavy things then you will need the 6 weeks off.
Good LUck!

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with specialized bariatrics. I scheduled my surgery for 3/17/15. Sent in my deposit(check was cashed). I tried emailing to confirm prior to booking airfare with no response after numerous emails for over a week. Tried calling today the number is "unavailable". Feeling like I just lost $500.00. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
M
Im scheduled for surgery with Dr Kelly for May 1st originally scheduled at Angeles, but they won't honor originally quote to people who were scheduled so I will probably go to Del Prado...still not certain were Im having it. Just know Im going :)
I am so glad to hear that you had a positive experience. I leave next Thursday traveling to TJ and you have greatly eased my mind (especially with all this transition stuff going on). Congrats on the beginning of your new journey! Quick question, if you know, what are you getting for pain (if you need anything)? I have heard that it isn't very strong and I am worried about post op pain, especially with a 30 hour car trip on the way back. My doctor wanted me to find out, because he said he would prescribe me something stronger if needed.
Congrats again!
Britt
I went to Dr. Guillermo Alvarez in Piedras Negras. He has done over 6,000 surgeries. He is amazing!
Hi there!
So, I have been looking at my options for years now in terms of bariatric surgery.
I have picked my surgeon and picked my date. I'm just waiting for the doctor to review my health survey and approve me before I pay my deposit.
While I know all about the logistics... I am really curious about recovery. I am getting a sleeve.
What is the pain like? How long did it last for you? I have a fairly physical job that requires some lifting and being on my feet all day. How much time should I take off work?
I understand that everyone is different and different folks recover differently. I just want to be as prepared as possible. Looking at going in May if I'm able to.
