Topic: RE: A Lighter Me--please share your negative experiences with me

Hi there...just read your notes from 2 years ago. I'm wondering how you are now doing? Did you lose weight after your revision? I had VSG with Dr. Liza Pompa in 2010. Lost about 62 lbs...287 down to 225 then have yoyo'd for several years. I am now 247 lbs. I want to know if Revision will work...also Revision to what???? Is the mini bypass a good option? How do I determine which surgery is the right one? I have been in discussion with Janesa from A Lighter Me. Also discussion with MI Hospital...both in Tijuana. Do you have a recommendation for a doctor AND will I lose weight? I have no complications from my VSG but feel that I'm hungry all the time...constantly....and I seem to be able to consume a LOT of food before feeling nauseated. Help please?

I've decided on going with Dr. Jose Rodriguez Villarreal. After much research and reaching out to 20 of his former patients as well, I felt comfortable with moving forward with him. My surgery date is scheduled for 8/28! Nervous and excited but I know it's the right move for me. After speaking to many people, the common response was wishing they had done it sooner. I'm crossing my fingers!

Did you find anyone to do the MGB in Mexico? I am currently searching as well. I agree with you regarding Dr. Rodriquez. I like that he is both certified by the American Bariatric Society and by the Mexico College for Bariatric Surgery. Whoever you go with, you want to make sure they are certified. You can search the following websites http://cmcoem.info and https://asmbs.org for registered members.

Have you looked into Obesity Control Center? I went there and am extremely happy. Dr. Ortiz had an excellent record, is JSS certified and OCC is an International Center of Excellence, which is a difficult certification to get.

You will pay a little more but it is well worth it because of the level of care and safety.

Updating. I ended up going to Obesity Control Center in TJ. Dr. Ariel Ortiz. I have an excellent experience in every way. The clinic, staff, nurses, drs. nutritionist, cardiologist and pharmacist all on site were so professional. The hotel and clinic were both very clean and well appointed. The follow up care is ongoing and top notch. I am over a year and a half out and maintaining my weight loss. I had no complications, quick recovery and my scars are almost totally gone.

I am so glad I chose to pay a little more and not risk my health. I chose OCC because of their certifications. JSS certified and International center of Excellence. The FB support group is also very helpful.
