Just getting started...sort of

I have been looking into LAPBAND surgery for quite a while and I am starting to believe that Mexico makes a lot of sense. Choosing a doctor will be a big issue and I have not done that yet. From reading this message board, it seems that finding US doctors willing to fill bands from Mexico is a major issue. Before I get too far into the process, I want to make sure that fills will be available near my home, the Washington, DC area. Does anyone know of a doctor in the area who will do fills on a patient whose surgery was performed in Mexico?

If you go to Dr Joyas web site, become a part of the forum support group there under lap band support. I am pretty sure there is a lady who is on the board every day that actually does fills in DC. She is a wonderful person, her name is Robin. I had my band done by Dr Joya, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Try going to FillCenterUSA.com and looking. I had my surgery by Dr.Ortiz and he did an excellent job. Hi Ralph, I had a gastric bypass in Colombia with Dr. Mikler it was the best choice I ever made. He told me he also performs a surgery called sleeve gastrectomy that has the same results as a Lap band, but you dont have to worry about fillings and have a piece of plastic inside you, its permanent He work with a group of very professional and lovely people.
