Where is the HOSPITAL????
Connie,
Mind you, I had RNY with Dr. Joya. I spent 4 nights in the hospital. That is his standerd rule, no matter how good your doing. He is very conservative and strict with his post ops. There were several being banded as well, that I met. They all spent the night. Dr. Joya uses 2 hospitals. Cornerstone, which is new, and was having some work done on elevator, cause he wanted it widened, cause it was not wide enough to transport pts on thier beds. Several girls, Jen and Kenna were there. I was at San Javier hospital. Trust me..it was a full fledged hospital.
Goodluck,
Sandy
When I was researching RNY in Mexico, I found the same info. Some do it in clinics like plastic surgery. That's one of the many reasons I chose Dr. Rumbaut. He does surgery at the Hospital San Jose in Monterrey, Mexico. They also do heart transplants there and is the hospital of choice when the US president visits Mexico if there is an emergency.
Dr. Rumbaut costs more than the others, but it was money well spent. It cost me $14500 last June. But I'm worth it. We spent $40000 on a sports car that's only driven for about 3 months per year. I figure I'm worth at least that!

I don't know about Dr Joya, but I had lap RNY with Dr Rumbaut and it was the most modern hospital and the most high tech OR I have ever seen. Definately beats both Broward General OR and Jackson Memorial in Miami, both of which I have been to several times. I, personally, would not have the surgery in a surgical clinic.
