CAN U BE TOO SKINNY FOR SURGERY IN MEXICO?

Hi guys~ I am having surgery with Dr. Ortiz on March 10th. I am super pysched but I am wondering if I lose a bunch of weight before I get there is there a limit on how much I can lose to not qualify for the surgery? My BMI now is 36, it was almost 39 and I would like to lose at least another 10 lbs once I start my shake diet next week. I just don't want to get all the way there and I am too skinny...I think that it is a bit more lax there and maybe it wouldn't be a problem. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Liz

Hi. I had a BMI of 37.7 and when I did the pre-op diet, I was told not to lose more than 10 pounds. I had surgery with Dr. Joya in August. I'm sure every surgeon is different. Best wishes on your surgery. Kina 220/138/120
