Hi Tracy I am having surgery tomarrow morning. This is what I had to do. to sucure my surgery date i had to do a 500.00 wire deposit to Dr Agguire's account. And than i had to get 2 money orders in theses ammounts. 7300.00 for Dr Agguire 2400.00 for Marco Susarrey We are staying in one of the appartments for 8 nights. With nurses care for the first few days out of the hospital I am paying 831.00 to Rosella. So altogether I paid 15,031.00. oh, and than i also paid Bambi 350.00 for round trip transportation to the San Diego Airport. so that put me at 15381.00. Hope this helps. I need to go to bed now, tomarrow is the big day for me. You look great Luna

Luna - Congrats on your surgery. I thought I had checked in yesterday but obviously not because you're already out of surgery by now!!! By the way, I came up with 11,381 for the total....where is the other $4000? I hope you are enjoying a pain free recovery! Dr. A will take great care of you! Dina

Thanks Tracy for asking for me I can be shy sometimes.... only when there's no alcohol involved Anyway, it sounds like it's going to be close to what my surgeon here would charge. i'm waiting to hear from them... their total pkg is about $22K but that's with preop clearance/etc... and all that's already done and covered by insurance even though they rejected the surgery, the testing was covered Anyway, so when I find out, I can decide then. I have about 4-6 weeks before I'll know if I can get the funding anyway... so I'm trying not to be obsessive... As a nurse, the thing that scares me most about going out of the country is infection risk... so many factors to consider, but the one fact is I can't stay like this... so who/where/how to fix it is the problem, not IF.

Nurse Kat, I really can relate to your concerns about going out of the country, infection and follow up. Well, I am a RN too, so I share that too. I was so angry, that I have worked years for a hospital, and "we" advocate healthy issues, but yet, they will exclude anything to help me "to get healthy". I chose to go to Mexico and I used Dr. Joya. I had a wonderful experience. And being a nurse, you bet I had the eye open to look for "problems". I had my lap band removed and RNY lapro. My costs was 12K including my flight, and 2 nights at resort. I paid for 4 additional nights at resort and got rate of 82.00 per night ( for dr's pts). I had a grand time, really weird to say....I had such a great time having major surgery!!! I know that Dr. A is great doc too! I invite you to look into Dr. Joya as well.
