I AM TRYING TO REACH DR. AQUIRRE'S OFFICE AND AM HAVING TROUBLE. ALSO DOES HE PRACTICE IN NEW MEXICO?? NOT FINDING A NEW MEXICO NUMBER...HMMMM.. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANYONES ASSISTANCE..JUST WANTED TO REACH HIM FOR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RNY SURGERY..THANK YOU!! CONNIE

Definately worth checking into Dr. Aguiree... There is an ad on obesityhelp.com which poses the question "Why have an OPEN gastric bypass if you can afford having it laparoscopically?" Because the surgeon has performed thousands of successful OPEN bypasses compared to hundreds of laprascopic bypasses. Laprascopic may be easier to heal, cleaner to operate, and safer for the patient WHEN PERFORMED SUCCESSFULLY... but how many of these laprascopic surgeries are still the first 1000 surgeries for the surgeon!!??? Skill... skill is what makes a procedure safe. I am amazed at the complications people have in the states by having laprascopic surgery performed by a "skilled" local surgeon. I would choose Dr. Aguirre again.
