A Wreck About Mexico....

My moms surgery is schuduled for this Thur. So we leave for Monterrey Mexico on Wed. But I'm a wreck about it all because it all seems a bit weird. We have had to change the surgery date three times in two days. First from Tues, then Wed, and now Thurs. (All due to fight problems). Anyway, the weird thing is "they" (Patti the spokesperson for Dr. Rodriguez) keep saying "no problem". Everything is set. Now here in the USA, changing surgery dates would not go like that. Do you agree or am I just being a NIDDIE, worrying like this?

The surgeons down there have less patients than docs up here, so they have the flexability to move dates around. If you are thinking that it's a bad sign or omen about all the date changes, then forget about it. There were so many bad things that happened to me before my surgery, that I wanted to take them as a bad sign, but I told myself not to. And tah dah! Nothing happened and my surgery was a success! I actually forgot all our cash and money orders the day we were to fly out. We got to the airport and I realized I'd left them in the drawer at home!!! Very luckily, I only live five minutes from the airport, so I made a cabbie drive like the devil there and back! I made home and back before my husband even made it to the check-in counter! There were many other things that happened, like missing our connecting flight into San Diego, but I wouldn't let it all worry me and I'm so glad that I didn't!!!! Everything will be fine! Cheers! Shay, Don't worry. People get you so anxious about going to Mexico because of their fears. If you're like me, you heard it all. Now, every little think like this that happens makes you sure you're making a mistake. Everything will be fine. I was able to get a surgery date just a few weeks after I decided to do this. You would never get in that fast in the U.S. for an elective surgery. That's just the way it is. Don't worry!! Good luck. Enjoy Mexico!! Kina 220/186/130

Hi! I will not tell you not to worry. This is major surgery. You have a healthy sense of fear and that is good. Just do not let your imagination run away with you. I will tell you this...read every profile you can get your hands on of a South of the Border patient. You will find many, many successful and happy wls patients who have traveled this road before you and your mom. Good luck! Happy travels! hugs, Molly 252/168/152

Hi I to had lap-band in Mexico however I used another doctor. Please go to my profile to get to my web-page & read my story. You know all things happen for a reason. I when I first set out for Mexico & saw the Clinic/ Hospital where I was to have my surgery I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. So yes I understand all to well how you may be feeling. Thank God for watching over me & for Dr.Rumbaut being such wonderful, kind hearted man. I ended up having lap-band surgery done by him on Monday morning. Other than the bumps in the road that I first had to deal with having surgery in Mexico was better than ever expected & the care that I recieved from my doctor & staff was nothing like I could or ever will recieve here in the US. I will answer any ??????????? you may have !!!
