nearing surgery date, worried about at home supplies.
Hi everyone,
Well, my surgery date has moved a week ahead (October 7th), and now I am getting nervous that I won't have everything I need ready at the house.
What items did yall have ready when you got home? I am doing the lapband.
I have the standard list of items, but was wondering if there was anything else that you found out you really wish you had, or did go and get.
thank you,
Debbie Cleveland
Hi Debbie,
Congratulations on you upcoming surgery!!! YIPEE!!!! Depending on your Dr. and the instructions for you diet will determine most things. Get a list if you don't have one for your post-opt diet, all Dr.s are different. I had lapband surgery with Dr. Joya in PV Mexico. I made sure I had the following things home waiting for me. Perioxide to clean the stiches area, cotton balls and bandages. Beef & chicken broth, SF Jello ready to eat and mix, bottled water, propel by gatorade (I'm not a water person & propel is flavored) crystal lite or sf kool-aide,neosporin for after 1 week, SF popscicles,100% fruit juice apple, prune or pear, tomato soup, cream of chicken, fruit smoothies like carb control by dannon on 60 cal, 2 gr sugar, protein drink like Eas AdvantEDGE 100 cal 15 gr protein no sugar choc, van, or strawberry,LIQUID TYLENOL!!!, soy milk, SF Carnation instant breakfast drink, oh blue bunny has a new carb control fruit smoothie out low cal, low sugar, SF pudding is a must!!! I bought hunts for 99 cents 4 pack, loose clothing, chap stick for the hospital or carmex, thank god for sports bras!! I still can't wear my regular bra which is 1 size larger than I wear and I wear a jacket to work so it's not as obvious. (surgery date 9/21) Pet food, cat litter, can't carry over 10 pound for 6 weeks so I stocked up and lastly A clean house and fresh clean sheets on my bed..oh and a pillow for the bumpy ride home and an extra one to sleep against my stomach. If you wear contacts take them out before surgery. Hope this helps. The best of luck to you!!! Oh multi-vitamins chewable.
