Good news on the job front
Hi everyone,
Just had to share my good news. I have been a student for almost 2 years, studying to be a paralegal. I have just over 4 weeks left, and I got a job already!! I started Monday. They did not want to pay me very much to start, but I negotiated $3 hr more. I know that before I had my surgery and lost 82 pounds, I never would have had the nerve to negotiate for more money. I would have humbly accepted whatever crumbs were thrown my way and accepted it gratefully. No more! I have so much more confidence now. Thank goodness for Dr. Aguirre and his crack surgical team. I am living life to the fullest now!

IM SO PROUD OF YOU.
I KNOW THE FEELING OF "SETTLING" FOR WHAT EVER IS OFFERED EVEN THO I KNOW IM WORTH MORE. I WAS A RESSTURAUNT MANAGER FOR A MAJOR FAST FOOD CHAIN AND I WAS THE LOWEST PAID COMPARED TO OTHER MANAGERS IN MY SAME POSITION. AND AT MY CURRENT JOB I WAS TREATED AS IF THEY DIDNT HAVE FAITH IN ME. I WAS PROMOTED TO ASSISTANT DELI MANAGER IN DECEMBER OF LAST YEAR. BUT I DIDNT GET A RAISE WITH PROMOTION. AND THE FOOD MANAGER DIDNT EVEN KNOW MY NAME OR WHO I WAS EVEN AFTER WORKING UNDER HIM FOR 8 MONTHS. PRETTY SAD.
SINCE IVE LOST 67 POUNDS THERE ARE PEOPLE TALKING TO ME NOW THAT WOULDNT EVEN GIVE ME THE TIME OF DAY BEFORE. ITS LIKE ALL OF A SUDDEN IVE BECOME "SOMEBODY". PERHAPS ITS THAT IVE BECOME MORE CONFIDENT IN MY SELF AND IM FEELING BETTER ABOUT MYSELF. AND THIS MAKES PEOPLE MORE COMFORTABLE WITH ME.
OH BY THE WAY I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO BE THE DELI MANAGER WHEN THE CURRENT DELI MANAGER MOVES AWAY IN JUNE. AND I WILL GET A 4 DALLOR RAISE. SO THE FOOD MANAGER HAS TAKEN NOTICE OF ME AND IS CONFIDENT THAT I CAN DO THE JOB.
I AM SO HAPPY I HAD THIS SURGERY.
AND IM HAPPY FOR YOU TOO.
