Sex!

I just wanted pre-ops that have significant others to know that you should have as much sex before your surgery as possible, to tide you over!! My husband and I made the mistake of not doing that and we are getting stir crazy now! Of course there are things that you can do that aren't really physical, and are very fun! But there are many other things that you can't do that you may miss!! Cheers! Lorraine

Sex? We were supposed to wait to have sex? I didn't know that!!!! It was only 5 or 6 days that I waited! Guess that was a question I should have asked!!!!

Gotta love ya girl. By the way did anyone say how long we needed to wait I don't remember Dr. Agurrie saying anything along those lines. Also what are you using to clean your wound. I got some batadine but I don't think its working so well how's it going? how you feeling? Mariah

Well, I've read in numerous places to wait at least a month. But in Amanda's case I guess it doesn't matter!! I suppose you can have sex whenever it's comfortable. Which it isn't for me yet. Intercourse that is. But we're enjoying all the other wonderful aspects of sex! I'm washing my wounds with regular body wash now. I brought the iodine home with me, so I was using that when we first got home. But all my little staple holes and the rest have all scabbed over or healed, so I just use soap. I'm a little depressed. I've been craving a chicken crunch wrap supreme from taco bell. That and a Max 5. Both are things that I had just "dicovered" before my surgery and fell in love with....... I'll survive! How's it going for you? Are you finding it hard to have a variety of foods when only being able to eat pureed crap?!! Say hello to your husband! Cheers! Lorraine

Okay, you girls are funny! When is the chat line open in this forum? Sex what is that ???? Im still pre-op, still single yata, yata, yata....... Hopefully that will all change when 1) I find the money to pay for this surgery 2) it actually happens 3) I lose enough weight that I actually want to have sex again. Hello fellow Washingtonian! (I'm from Mount Vernon, about an hour and a half north of Seattle.) Anyway! Your day will come! For surgery and sex! Keep positive and scrounge every penny. It will eventually add up! And trust me, single life ain't as bad as people make it out to be!! Cheers! Lorraine

Girl, how did you know I had sex on the brain? Sigh. I didn't have RNY but I was pretty sore until recently and then I got my monthly friend And we didn't get to play before surgery either cause I got my monthly friend JUST before surgery, too! Today it is gone and my darling boyfriend and I are planning on knocking boots tomorrow night That's IF (and a big IF at that), that darn tropical storm doesn't hit us tomorrow He takes care of his home bound mother, she's on oxygen. If the storm hits tomorrow night he has to stay home with her in case the power goes out and he's got to crank up the generator She cannot be without oxygen for even a minute. So I'm crossing my fingers and begging the god of sex that the cobwebs down under get to be dusted off cause this dry spell has been going on for more than a month...if you catch my drift. Maria
