Financing Surgery

Has anyone taken out loans for surgery costs? I don't have a home so I can't take out a home equity loan, and my credit isn't the greatest since I am so young but I have seen different companies that specifically offer financing for surgery procedures. Just curious if anyone has gone that route, what the experience was like etc. Do traditional banks and credit unions offer loans large enough to cover surgery? any advice or info is appreciated.

Hi Melissa! I got a personal loan here in the US from Citifinancial. I just listed it as for medical expenses. I do not have the best credit either, and their intrest rate was better than the ones offered for WLS. I only have 16%, Medicredit was 22%. Good luck! Bonnie

try medicredit.com I went through them to finance part of my surgery. I didn't have the best credit either and with a co-signer they were going to let me finance the whole thing but I only financed part of it.. I hope this helps. Their customer service kinda sucks but hey if it gets you the surgery you want then more power to ya.. Good luck hon Cindy

Thanks you all!!! What a help you have been. I have been so worried about paying for the surgery. I was telling my friend that you would think the hardest decision I would have to make would be whether or not to go through with the surgery, not how am I going to pay for it! I am going to look into Citfinancial. My bank doesn't do personal loans other than car and education. The few I found that do have very short repayment lengths and low limits. I think I have a co-signer so that should help. Please keep your fingers crossed and pray that I find a way to make this happen. Melissa
