has anyone been to dr. r.how was the wsl.was wondering about cost for lap rny and recovery time thanks for any information!

I had my surgery with Dr. Rumbaut on July 13th of this year. I was very impressed. After I was back in the hotel, a doctor came to check on me every day (except Sunday). I got a level of care that exceeded that which I'd have received here in the States both while in the hospital and when out. Didn't answer two of your questions. 1. Cost = $14,600. Includes pre-op testing, surgery, hospital, after care, medicines, etc. 2. Recovery time varies by person. My surgery included a planned gallbladder removal, I spent 3 nights in the hospital (2 is normal for Lap RNY). Six days after surgery we traveled back to the US, and I did fine traveling, though I napped a lot the day after travel. Twelve days after surgery I'm back at work half time (I could work full time, but why, that is what sick leave is for). Next week I'll be back full time. Walking well, haven't started back at the gym yet. -Pam

Hi Vicki, I am researching Dr. Rumbaut as well and have emailed some questions to him. I will let you know what answers I receive from him concerning the Lap RNY. I haven't heard anything negitive about him except a comment about pain management after the procedure. That is very individual and everyone has a different threshold for pain.
