I need to get back on track

Hi Gang Boy, at 8 months out I'm finding myself slipping back into some old, nasty habits. Yesterday I had a Krispy Kreme doughnut and a cookie, oh, AND ice cream!!! Also, I've been eating between meals alot, not because I'm hungry. It's just an old habit I need to break. My sis-in-law just had gastric bypass surgery on Tuesday. I'm hoping that she will motivate me to get back on track. Also, I will be joining her support group. Any other suggestions on what I can do? I haven't gained any weight, but I haven't lost any either! Kathleen

I've been there also Kathleen. I had to just kind of have a few days where I didn't eat much. I just set my mind to it that I was going to just go for a few days where I didn't eat unless I was feeling ravenous. Well, the longer I went the less interested in food I was. I got into ketosis and it really helped a lot - especially with the sugar cravings. I was able to get back on the losing side by doing it, but it took me awhile to get to the point where I was ready to do that. If I can get off the sugar I can get rid of the cravings and quit snacking. I did feel like getting on my Triscuit and cheese kick has helped me. It really quells my hunger quickly. I put a slice of cheese on each piece and nuke it for 20 seconds. Yum. Making myself hungry now! Dina

I know the feeling! We were just traveling back home from vacation today and I was thinking to myself all of the things I am going to start doing (exercise) and quit doing (snacking) as of tomorrow!! Those first six months were sooo easy now, it is our turn to do the rest! Wish I had some advice for you! For, me I'm just going back to the pouch rules for dummies and reading through and starting from there! Good luck!!!! A

hi kathleen Im so glad you posted this. I think we all go through these spurts and wonder if we are the same as everyone else. I too have found myself more hungry at times but realized I wasn't really hungry just eating cause it was there.. It's still hard and this is going to take awhile to break these old habits. I decided to go back to atkins and following a high protein low carb diet again. Ketosis is where your body starts burning it's own fat for fuel. In atkins I eat eggs, cheese, meats, salads and other items that you can eat and it puts your body in ketosis by reducing your carb intake to under 20 grams per day.. you notice the first few days the pounds melt away and it's funny because you feel like everytime you eat you lose. It's a nice feeling and totally different from anything I used to feel when I would eat. If you want you can email me and I can tell you some of the things im eating. Im trying to get to my 100 pound mark by my 6 month anniversary but it's coming up fast and I don't think Im going to quite make it.. Oh well I am still really happy with what I have lost so far.. Hugs You look fantastic Cindy
