As many of you have, I have researched RNY surgery for over a year. I have read books. I have educated myself as much as possible. However, I knew that my insurance would not pay. So, I started looking South of the Border. Well, I have found a dream surgeon. His name is Dr. Andres Sliva. He scheduled a date for pre-op and op. for 30 days later. (July 14th) I have spoken with several of his patients that were amazed by the way they were treated in and out of the hospital. Cost for my surgery, flight, tours, hotel, cell phone, nurse, etc. is $14, 380. Dr. Sliva has financing availible. However, you receive a 7% discount if you pay with a cashier's check. Dr. Sliva called and answered all of my questions. You can see his web site at affordablebariatrics.com. I hope this helps some of you! Best Wishes, Sonya Sumrall

Hi Sonya! Congratulations! It really is exciting when you find the surgeon that is right for you and get your surgery date. This surgery is such a life saver and it is amazing how wonderful you feel when those pounds and inches go away. Hang in there, July 14 will be here before you know it and you will start on a journey to a whole new life. I wish you the best! Cheri

Congratulations Sonya! I was able to get in to have my surgery within 2 1/2 weeks, it's amazing how fast things go when you are paying cash. You will not regret your decision. I hope you are having it done laprascopically. I assume you are because I had lap RNY with Dr. Rumbaut and it was $14600. Best of luck to you on your trip south! Bonnie
