I am 9 days out and have been bouncing off the walls. I have cleaned my place 3 times in the last 4 days. I even broke out the good 800 count cotton sheets for my first night home. Any suggestions as to what I should have in my kitchen when I get back from surgery? Richard

Hola Hombre! Que Pasa? hehe just practicing my Espannol too!!! I bet you are getting so excited and anxious. I totally understand how you feel . My advice is to go to the store and buy a large variety of soft foods you can prepare. You never know what you will feel like eating and what will agree with you so this is the time for the regular store and not CostoCo or Sam's ya know? Go to the store and buy some: cup o' noodles cup o' instant mashed potatoes prepared sugar free jello cups and pudding cups (near yogurt section) sf popscicles laughing cow cheese wedges melba toast Propel water (you can dilute it down to suit your sweetness sensor) caffine free herbal tea with mint feels good on pouch (if that is your kinda thing) sf yogurt instant cream of wheat splenda packets I could go on and on but you get the idea. I certainly tolerated everything really well very early on. I was eating little fingerfulls of authentic Mexican frijoles four days postop. I also took with me some Cream of Chicken soup packets. At the restaurant we went to a lot they would bring me a bowl of steaming ho****er and I would mix my own soup right there and leave a generous tip. It is so cheap there. You'll love the store. Go to Giante and get some Pan Tostado. It is super yummy and I dipped it in my soup. Made me feel human again. In the evenings as an early postop I would indulge in sugar free jello mix. I drank it hot and always in a beautiful little cup with an elegant stir-stick. I am so ritualistic with my food and drink. Buy some little cups at World Market or somewhere that you will really enjoy. I still use my little 2 and 3 oz Chinese tea cups for coffee every morning (my guilty pleasure) Anyway good luck Man! You are gonna do so great. I'm rambling here so I gotta go, LOL! Hugs, Molly after sleeping in Mexico, those luxury sheets will be just what the dr ordered!!! Fluff the comforter one more time and don't forget to bring a nice robe to walk around the hospital in. My mom brought a beautiful one and it really saved me. I just wore it over the shoulders so my booty wouldn't hang out (although the eye-candy woulda been quiet cheerful for all I'm sure) With all the IV's and stuff you can't put the sleeves on but this also helped me feel more human.
