How hard do you think it would be to remove the g-tube ourselves. The doctor I had lined up to take it out refused to do that today. he said he's worried about the liability. How bad did it hurt and how much did he have to pull out. What happens to that little bulb once you pull the water out of the balloon does that come through that little hole in our sides too. I need your help buddy. They did remove half the staples but said they won't remove the other half till next week. The staple removal was easy i didn't feel a thing... I still have my g -tube and I can't find anyone that will remove it for me so i might have to do it myself. Any ideas??

hey Michael. I know it sounds horrible but dr aguirre was the one who suggested it to my husband before we ever even left mexico and told him he would show him exactly how to remove it. He said it's really simple and not a big deal. I think if he said that then hopefully there is no risk involved. I know there is just a stitch to remove and then a baloon to deflate and then out it can come Tracy.. My number at home is 253-838-4918 Im here till about 11 today as Im still on the search for someone to help me. I called the local emergency room and they said that they cannot not treat me but they cannot guarentee they would remove it either.. Im so pist off. If i would have known the first doctor was going to flake out on me I would have stayed long enough to have this stuff removed. He was a complete jerk about it and said . " See and you thought you were going to save so much money by going to mexico... I know he just wants to try to make some crap up to make me have to pay him more for him to help me. So i guess I will be seeing my general doctor for aftercare instructions just like you. I did however get the manual of what stages they have us follow and what they want us to do. I can make a copy for you Tracy if you want.. I knew you would lose more than me lol. Men always do. Today I weighed in at 317.5 so that is another couple pounds yay... Do not do like I did and try some fat free sugar free pudding.. I dumped.. Now that i know what that feels like ... NEVER DO IT LOL. It was horrible.. Cindy Call me okay im freaked out about this. We did call rosella last night and she said we can do it ourselves it's not a big deal but mike is worried and I don't even know what to do at this point.. Cindy

Hey Cindy, try the Carb Countdown milk to make your pudding. Regular milk, even the skim milk has alot of sugar in it, and especially so new post op your system can't handle it. Personally, I think the carb countdown milk is terrible by itself, but in pudding you can't even taste the difference. Just a little thought. Good luck getting your drain tube out, I can't imagine having the grief you're having with this! Stephanie

Cindy, I will email you this also so you get it right away. IT REALLY ISN'T A BIG DEAL AT ALL TO TAKE IT OUT! Don't worry, my hubby did it while I was talking to work on the phone, no pain, not a big deal at all. It just slips out, kinda slimey and gross. You can also go to a medical supply store and get the staple pullers for $10 and take them out yourself. They are like tweezers and just slip those baby's out. Don't panic at all...my number at work is 1-800-225-6304 if you need me to walk you thru it. Susie in IDaho

Oh My goodness...Hey Cindy, I just left a message for you at home. Hope that's okay. My husband removed my drain and it was really a non-issue once I got some good instructions on how to do it. Please, please, call me at 509-323-1487 as soon as you can and I will help you with this if you would like me too. It is very easy!!! Big gentle Hugs, Molly

I wished that I lived closer to you, because I'd come over and take it out for you. I'm a nurse and like the other posters have said, it really is easy to take out and it's not going to hurt you. The same with the staples. Staples are very easy to remove. Good luck, I think your husband or family member could take it out very easily for you. Melissa

Sheesh! Finally a voice of reason. Thanks Melissa and Sue. Everyone else...let's not talk about risk of life here. She has already been through major surgery. She will be fine. I know the idea of it is a little disconcerting but again...not rocket science. I'm just a stay at home mom, lol! Call me if you need to and we will get that thing out of you over the phone if need be. Molly
