Back from Mexico and a Happly Banded!
I left on the 22nd to start my travel to Mexico ( stayed a night with my Angel) then the morning of the 23rd flew to Mexico. What a wonderful experince!!!!
My doctor, Dr. Aceves .. words are just not enough to say how great this doctor is. He just has the most caring bedside manner of any doctor I have ever known. He fully goes out of his way to make sure you do not suffer at all. If it is within his power he does it. His assistant Nina is just a doll! She stays with you from the time she picks you up at the airport until you wake up in the room after surgery and even a few hours after to make sure you are ok. I really loved that!! As I went alone, so I felt I had someone there with me that I knew cared about my health and well being.
I will update my profile in a day or two, as I just got home today. But I wanted to post this and want anyone that is thinking of going to Mexico to feel free to email me. I will gladly tell you full details of what to expect under the care of Dr. Aceves.
Hugs

Hi Debi,
I am seriously thinking about going outside the US to have this surgery, as I am going to be a self pay. I have United HealthCare Insurance and am in the appeals process - but that is proably a waste of my time. So I need to gather as much inforamtion as I can. Please help me. I need this surgery becasue of my health- I was diagnosied with Stage !A non-samll cell lung cancer 11/03 - however, the surgeons did a lung resection and chemotheraphy and they tel me I am cured. I have had several scans and everything look clear. However, I am now diabetic, sleep apenea, cholesterol and high trygylcirides, fatty liver, as so on. I am 100+ overweight and my bmi is 40. I wish my insurance would over ride the exclusion this suregery would be paid for 100% - but I do have some resources left and can go self pay if I have to. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks, Pam Hartsell [email protected]
