Will US insurance cover costs 4 Complications?
Hi Natalie,
My guess is that it depends on your insurance carrier and how your PCP codes the problem. I understand that a lot of people have their blood work for nutrition paid for by their PCP coding it to rule out malnutrition rather than as a post-surg patient. I haven't had any problems, but my PCP took out my drain and staples and the insurance paid for their part (I still paid my co-pay for an office visit.) I don't know how she coded it. I would ask my PCP if I were you and share with her/him (IF they're supportive about this already) that if there are problems, they need to be coded so that the insurance pays.
