Hi Angie...
You will find lots of good info at this site http://www.drjoya.com/ . I had my surgery with Dr. Joya and staff in Peurto Vallarta a little over two months ago and I am feeling great and have already lost 63 pounds. Thier prices are listed on the site and include everything, flight, ground transportation, hotel, hospital ect. I do mean everything. Check out his site and if you have any questions feel free to contact me. There are support groups there for people who are considering or have had WLS.
Hope this info helps*

Dr. Aguirre in Ensenada charges 8500 for open. My total bill will be around 11,000 that is with transportation from the airport and back and staying there they have an apartment you can stay in. I also got first class nonstop plane tickets which made the cost alot more. If you research the south of the boarder forum and the Dr.s in Mexico you will find all the information you know.
Hi, I just got back from my surgery in Ensenada with Dr. Aguirre. What a wonderful experience. Any information you want I will be more than willing to give you. If you want to talk on the phone email me and I will get a hold of you. I want to say that it is very important to have all the details worked out before you go so you can concentrate on only you, surgery, and recovering. Don't rush into making an appointment just because you are so desperate to get losing. Believe me I would have gone the next day if I could have. Plan, be comfortable, know what you need.
Now, go to Dr. Aguirre's patient forum and read. You will find lots of info. I know there are others who have weighed 400 or more. Everyone is more than willing to share their experiences.
Keep reading, investigating and asking questions! Congratulations on taking the first steps.
Hi Angie:
I also live in Sacramento (Elk Grove) and I had Lapband surgery in Mexico. We are having a meeting of the Sacramento Bandsters next weekend and you're welcome to join us. Feel free to send me an email if you are interested in coming to the meeting or hearing about my experience.

OK,I am haveing surgury with Bajanor medical group ,they are 15 min from san diago,Andrea ,the patient coordinator is awsome, the doctors are personable ,and what I like best about them is that they have been honest with me,I dont think they would have trouble doing someone over 400 lbs, they handle your roundtrip flight ,hotel and meals for you and an escort ,the price is all inclusive,it includes transportation once your there also, the price is under 9,000 if you are interested in them look them up ,type in hospital bajanor,if you want email me your phone number and ill get Andres to call you. your entire trip will only be about 3 days, and they really do take care of you once your there ,i know that if you dont have someone to go with you that they will handel all your needs ,well I look forward to hearing from you .thanks
Hi Angie,
I am having lap band surgery in Mexico at the end of July,...the dr I'm working with is Dr. Alberto Aceves (www.mexicolapband.com) He does more then just the lap band,..very resonable self pay prices, his staff has been incredibly helpful to me so far,..I have not actually met or spoken with him personally,..but I am hearing nothing but great things from all the folks I've met that have been directly invovled with him.
Good luck to you!
Cindy
Dr Rumbaut in Monterrey. I had mine done with him a couple months ago and he was great. He himself has the lap band so he knows what weight loss surgery is all about! Try belighter.com for some info.
He also works with a lot of US clinics so that all the arrangements are made in the states and you don't have to worry about all that. (airfare, hotels, fees) Then your follow ups would be in the states and you wouldn't have to go back to Mexico for all the appointments. (that's what i have done)
Anyway if you have any ?'s just let me know! Good Luck!
Kristin

Hi there im hopefully going to drive to Monterrey Mx in October. We will park somewhere at the Tx boarder and take a Mexican bus line the rest of the way (3- 1/2 hrs). There are reports of cars being taken by the BAD police etc if you keep your car in the US and take their bus lines and taxi's (that the hotel reccomends) it would be alot better sorda plus you dont have to worry about buying the mexican insurance and in Mexico your guilty till proven inocent. Not like it is here thats a 3rd world country your going into. I am seeing dr. Rumbaut. Oh yeah and dont drink their water or use their ice. If I can help you with anything else please e-mail me I live in Florida Pam
