PACOS/GASOLINE IN MEXICO??

dose anyone know about buying gas in mexico? is it called gas? is it just like in the states? do you pay with pacos or us dollars? dose anyone know for example what 11 pacos($1.00) will buy in mexico? How much is gas in mexico? (monterrey mexico). thanks pam

Gas is expensive in Mexico and it is sold in liters. There are no self serve pumps. You pay the man in advance. I always get out and watch to make sure I get all the gas I paid for. Gasolina is gas in spanish and if you want unleaded it is magna sin. They never check oil, water or wash windows unless you ask and then they expect a tip. I think you are referring to pesos when you say Pacos. Eleven pesos buys about what you would buy in the US for a dollar, nothing!

What Carnela said! I remember Bamby saying he filled up in the US because it was cheaper. Gas was $2.35 a gallon in San Diego when I was there in March....I'm sure much more by now! Dina
