has anyone driven this far?

Has anyone driven 1700 miles 1 way to mexico for surgery? I live in florida and have to be driven. iI was wondering if anyone else has made a trip like this and how they did comming back etc. I DONT fly. So I have to be driven but I was wondering how hard it would be on me but hubby says we can stop every 30-45 min and let me walk rest get hotels etc as long as I am comfertable. Thanks Pam

I have driven to Mexico and Costa Rica. It was not bad but I wasn't returning after surgery. I do live closer than you do, Washington State, but I drove around 1500 miles.

Hi Pam, My husband and I drove from AZ to Mexico to have surgery with Dr. Aguirre last summer. It was about a 7 hour trip down and about a 9 hour trip back. Dr Aguirre said to stop every hour and walk around for about 10 minutes. He didn't say but I know it has to do with blood clots, you shouldn't sit for long periods of time without streching. It's not a good idea for anyone and especially for someone who has just had surgery.
