Hi Neighbor, Washington here. I agree with Dina, I believe there was a patient in this forum that mentioned about Dr. V and it was not a positive feedback on him. Dr. Augurre charges $8,600.00 around there. I don't have my notes here in front of me. I was the one that posted a site on my experience. I have some information there that might hellp you with some of your concerns. I will have to correct something it is $79.00 per night without a nurse to stay at Dr. Augirres apartment. If I were you call them directley and ask for rosella so you know you got through just fine. Sometimes email is not reliable at this point. I just don't want to see your information floating in space somewere and not gettting it to the Dr. The only exam I got was a blood and urine specimen, i asked questions, he layed me on the chair and told me how far he will do the cut and just to make sure if it was okay for him to remove gall bladder stones if you had any and that was it. Next day surgery!!!!

I was told $79.00 for the apartment withou a nurse. As far as Dr. Verboonen goes, I heard the same thing. I am looking for the info but I believe it is all on the website someone posted above. Take care everyone!

im from the toronto area , and am now living in south carolina - moved for husbands job. i am about 6 weeks post op, (also self pay) and doing well. i thought your provincial health would cover the costs? i was surprised to hear you had to self pay. anyway, its a great decision, you wont regret it. diane.

Hi there!! I am from Calgary, Alberta. I am relatively new to this site. A friend of my had rny about 6 months ago and has lost about 75 lbs to date. She is doing so well, I decided to look into it for myself. I have chosen lap band, and I just booked my flight, and have a date set for July 30th! I am so excited. I am thrilled to have finally tapped into a thred that is filled with Canucks going to Mexico. My Dr. is Alberto Aceves, and so far, dealing with his assistant Nina has been incredible,..she's a wonderful help. She is picking me up at the airport in San Diego and we'll drive to Mexicali...I may only have my tests that day,...and if so, surgery first thing the next morning. It is $8200 US, whi*****ludes 3 fills in the 1st year. I have been wondering about the fills,...have any of you been able to get the fills done in Canada instead of having to go back to Mexico or ?? The other thing I wonder about and can't seem to find a bunch of info on, is what the heck I eat after this surgery and how much...anybody know of any sites that I can further educate myself on what types of foods or shakes are best? I'm hoping the dr will supply me with more info after the surgery,..just sitting waiting makes you feel like you could be knowing more than I know now about all of this. Stampede started today!! Yehawwwwwwwww! Cindy
