coffee???
That is my favorite one, hands down. Having the regular diet colas tastes like when you forget to put the vanilla in a batch of cookies....just a bit bland! Amazing how you get used to something.
I know putting it in ice helps cut the carbonation for me and I figure I have a hard enough time drinking my liquids, so I'll get them anyway I can. Plus this helps keep me from wanting to eat when I get a little hungry. I've always used soda to stave off the hungries, so it's kind of a habit.

I drink about 1 cup of coffee a day. I LOVE real New Orleans style coffee and I LOVE my Café au lait! I like mine sweet, with two teaspoons of sugar substitute. The coffee must be dark roast, brewed strong, and must include chicory.
And not that nasty espresso latte like they sell at Starbucks with a froth of steamed milk plopped on top. They're NOT the same thing. Café au lait is brewed coffee, preferably dark French roast with chicory, with half scalded (NOT steamed) milk, poured together from two pots. Well, that's my preference.
Yanno, I've never had a Cafe au lait. I do agree though that *$ ( couldn't resist that for "Starbucks") lattes are icky.
I have to admit I'm not sure I'd like chicory....what does it taste like? I've heard they used chicory to suppliment coffee when it was hard to come by in this country. I am a coffee snob and having never tasted it before I'm guessing I wouldn't like it. I like high acidity and a lilt on the tongue, not heavy and overbearing. Not to say I don't like strong coffee, but the beans make a HUGE difference. Sumatra is too smooth and heavy and has no lilt to it. Anyway, guess I'm getting too much into my new love of roasting because I can't stop talking subtleties.
