binders

Hello I was told that you could buy extra binders at Walmart. Dr. Aguirre is doing my surgery in Jun and I was wondering if anyone has purchased extra from him? Thanks!

Debbie - I am not sure about Walmart because it was too busy the other day but I did check with Fred Meyer and they didn't have them. I think they should be easy enough to find locally though. I didn't ask Dr. A for an extra but I would probably do so in hindsight. I wish I had one that I could wear while the other is in the wash, but to be honest, I took my binder off today and am taking a breather from it anyway. He told me to wear it for 4 weeks, but I heard others say 6 weeks, while still others are wearing it longer. I probably will quit at 4 weeks though. There is no pressure on my incision so I kind of figure it will probably be okay by then. Dina

The Walmart here did not carry them but I bought an extra one at a Longs Drugstore. I also bought those waist cinchers things that you can get in the lingerie department at Walmart and Kmart. Anything that would hold me in and give me support for my hernia worked for me!
