I'm done waiting for insurance, I'm going to Mexico, where do I go?

I posted a request for info about Dr dela Garza in Monterrey with no answers, so I'm appealing to you all... I'm 5'1, I weigh 230 pounds, I was diagnosed with diabetes last year, I can't get insurance for love nor freaking money, I'm fat, I'm tired, I'm fed up, and the American health system sucks moose. (No offense to any nice moose.) I'm ready. I'm going. But who do I go to? I want a lap band. Any advice?

Celia, this is my first post after reading this board for several years. I originally wanted the lapband also, but honestly, after reading virtually every post on Dr Aguirre, I feel like that is the best choice. If you read about Dr's in US you do not get the same response. The intricate details posted about his surgery have convinced me. Now it's just a matter of selling my business and then scheduling a date. And I want to thank all of you who do post regularly, you have no idea what a blessing you are to those of us who are to afraid to. Thank you! Sue

Celia - I am so sorry I didn't see your question! I try to answer all new posts but I just for some reason didn't see it. Aaack! I obviously have no experience with any other doctors, but I have seen a few people on here who were happy with lap experiences from other surgeons but I can't remember if they were the band or not. If you haven't read back a little ways, you might try doing so. There were a couple of really good and informative posts on a couple doctors. Hopefully you will find your favored doctor soon! Dina
