I was a bad girl today.
I've heard that less then 600 calories will put you in a starvation mode. I couldn't fathom going to a buffet when I was three weeks out but you probably didn't eat as much as you think. There are days I feel like I'm "pigging out" but if I really add up what I had ate I hadn't. I was able to eat alot more in the beginning. Kind of scared me. I remember reading a post from someone whose family member said they probably just cut you open and sewed you back up so you "thought" you had the surgery. I thought, "OMG, that happened to me!". lol I try to eat three meals a day and I do have snacks on occasion. Nuts, cheese, peanut butter and cracker, jerky, yogurt, etc.
Mary - I had heard that about starvation mode many times, but I thought we were supposed to eat smaller amounts than that initially, so that is what I've been trying to stick to.
As for the thought that they sliced you open to make you think they did the surgery - I had that fleeting thought also but realized it was ridiculous since I had the bile bag and I was dumping on carbs! LOL! Not that I thought it was really a possibility - I knew our good doctor was not that way - but when you feel so good as I did afterwards, you wonder why there is no pain!
