Revision from VSG to DS on 4/22

Hello all!! I am new here. I had a gastric sleeve performed 5 years ago. But this Saturday I am scheduled to have Revision of the sleeve and DS with Dr Esquerra at Mexicali Bariatric Center.

Just curious if anyone else has been there or had this same thing performed.

My original sleeve was performed by Dr Garcia in TJ. He did an awesome job. I just gained about half of my weight back over the last 12-18 months. I am not going back to Dr Garcia because they like to convert from VSG to RNY. But, I really wanted the DS.

Anyway, glad to have found this forum. Thanks for any and all input :)

How did your surgery go on 4/22/17? I hope your recovery is going well.

It is going well. Still in the hospital. But I passed my leak test this morning so I am sip sip sipping. They told me I had more than 10 meters of intestines and that was why I was gaining weight back. The average person has between 6-7. So they did not have to do anything to my original sleeve. But, so far, so good. Thanks for asking! And good luck to you.

Thank you so much for sharing! I am in the same exact boat as you were! And I am beginning to suspect I have abnormally long intestines, as well. I am going to see Dr. Lopez in July.
