How do I keep valuables safe if I travel to Mexico alone for surgery?

This seems like a silly question, I know. I've been doing a ton of research and I've never actually seen this mentioned. I wouldn't take expensive jewelry or anything, but a cell phone, tablet, etc.  When I'm out cold, where do I leave them?

Thanks!

I am not how they do it in MX but I recently had a procedure where I was going to be out and they said put your purse and all in a plastic bag and it stays under your bed. I didn't feel that was very safe but that is what they did.

Thats a really good question. I'd be more worried about my wallet and passport, but still... You will have a locker/drawers of sorts and I can only really think that you'd want to put those in a bag in there. I don't suppose there really is a good place. Maybe with the nurse's station, or even better, I'd contact the hospital administration and ask them specifically about a storage locker. Me, personally, I'd just put them in a bag and hope for the best. Awful, I know, but that's the best I can think of. Let us know what you find out.

My hospital room had a safe in the closet for valuables. Not sure if yours will but it might be worth it to ask. My surgery was with Dr. Fernando Garcia through Tijuana Bariatrics.

My surgery is with Dr. Fernando Garcia also..scheduled for March 14, 2016...is there anything you can tell me about your experience with the hospital or things that I should know before I go?
