Titanium staples

I have been reading the posts and they have been very helpful.  I called a couple of the vsg website phone numbers and talked with their representatives.  One told me that some Drs. in Tijuana use black market staples.  I asked this of one of the representatives and she said she would check and get back with me, but never did.  This worries me.

I have a metal allergy.  I bought some Titanium earrings in the U.S. to see if I would get any irritation.  They have worked fine.  How do I know if the surgeons in Mexico are using pure Titanium staples?  I have asked some and they say they do, but I did not see it written anywhere on their website.

Anyone out there who has a metal allergy that has has the sleeve surgery?

I am not sure about the other doctors.  I do know that Dr Alvarez, who I went to, uses titanium staples. He has a youtube video where he shows the brand he uses and demonstrates them. Search for Endobariatric on youtube. He has many videos but this one is listed  with his questions of the week. Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the info.  Dr. Alvarez seems like a good Dr.  Can you tell me a little bit about your experience.  How much did you pay for your surgery?  Did you have the sleeve?
