Yaarak, I spoke with Rika today and she mentioned that Dr. Lopez and team are only doing their surgeries out of VIDA hospital, she said the other hospital is over crowded. I know you mentioned in an earlier post that you were not sure which facility you will receive your surgery at.. You should check with her to see if things has changed for you I understand this decision was just made on Thursday or Friday of last week.
Dr. Lopez was my surgeon too! He is such a nice man. He came to see me before and after my surgery to answer any of my questions. I had surgery in August and have had no complications. I had a hernia repair at the same time and didn't get charged for it. I didn't know I had a hernia and when I filled out the papework I refused the hernia repair. He told me he wouldn't have been able to do the sleeve without repairing my hernia so he went ahead and did it. When I told the coordinator that I wasn't paying for the hernia repair, and that I had said No on my form before surgery she came back and said it's ok, you don't need to pay. I have 5 incisions. One was the drain. I felt so good afterwards that I was able to go sight seeing just days after surgery. It took a few weeks to heal. The drain incision took the longest. I didn't take any pain meds after 4 days post op. I could have returned to work one week after surgery but took the extra few days to relax and focus on getting in my fluids.
