Hello all,

Newbie here trying to gain some more info. I have decided to do the sleeve procedure in Mexico (still researching dr's). I do have a question about the flight to Mexico/San Diego for those who have flown. I have never been on a plane so I have no point of reference - but did you have to buy one seat or two? I don't know how large the airplane seats are. I'm currently 5'10 and 349lbs. I know I can't ride a roller-coaster, so I was a bit worried about air travel. I'm trying to put together a budget so any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Britt

I was not quote 250# when I flew to MX for my surgery and I was very tight in the seat and had to ask for a seat belt engender.

At your weight ,I would definitely buy two sears ,as much for your comfort and anything.GLmy daughter and her family live in Elkmont. :)

My wife and I flew from Atlanta to San Diego to have our operations done in Mexicali. We bought an extra seat. I fit OK in the seat but it was nice to have the extra room. As well as being wide in the middle, I do have broad shoulders. I would have been an unpleasant experience having another person wedged in beside me for the entire flight.

Also ask about "premium seats" they usually cost more but you have more legroom and larger seats. On our flight the seats were 5" wider.

Hi, I would also recommend you to buy two seats.  Where are you coming from?  I live in San Diego so I didn't have to fly down.  I was picked up at home by a driver from the hospital.  If you are unsure about doctors, I can highly recommend mine, Rafael Abril.  Another friend of mine had her sleeve done by him as well.  His procedures are done at Hispano hospital which is a hospital, not a clinic only about a mile away from the border.  Do your homework and make sure that the doctor you choose is certified!

Good luck!!
