You can go through Doctor's in Tijuana. You take a flight to the [SAN] San Diego airport and your coordinator will have a driver to pick you up and drive you across the border. Every place that I looked into in Mexico had transportation included in your package price. The packages usually include procedure price, transportation [to/from airport/hotel/hospital], 1 or 2 nights in hospital and 2-3 nights in hotel. You just have to buy your own plane ticket, of course. Some options are A Lighter Me, Obesity Control Center, Specialized Bariatrics and Ready 4 a Change. This will save you a little money if you live in the states and if you have to get a passport. When driving into Mexico, you only need the passport card instead of the whole book to cross back into the states and you can get that for $55.

Actually there are a few that you have to fly into Tijuana as part as their package, that the reason I asked. What is a passport card? I never heard of one and would much rather have one of those than the book because I have no plans of actually leaving the states other than surgery. Thanks for your reply!

Ah, I'm going through Specialized Bariatrics and they require you to fly to San Diego if you are choosing the Tijuana location. As for the others I mentioned, Im not sure. Hopefully someone else will reply and give you some more information. The passport card is just the card by itself without the book included. Here is the site for it. ^_^

Thank you so much:) after a lot of research I do believe I'm going with Lopez. I've heard nothing but great reviews, his pricing is perfect and he provides transportation to and from a a state side airport :) does any one know how far the ride from the hotel in Mexico to the state side airport is? Thanks for the card info. I have an appointment on the 14th to get my passport but I will now ask them about the card. I'm ready to get this started! As soon as I receive my passport/card I'll be finally setting me a date. I see you live in Texas- I live in Mobile Alabama. Happy I have met me a southern friend:) when is your date?

That's who I'm going with! ^_^. I've watched a few YouTube videos and people have said anywhere between 20-40 mins to get from SD to Tijuana sooo I'm not sure and the said once in Mexico, the driving is ridiculous. I do know I've seen a lot of people say that crossing back into the US takes a bit longer, understandably so considering we have to show identification coming back to the US. Not a problem about the card info! I was originally going to go to Puerto Vallarta because the plane ride was shorter and I'm pretty scared about flying, never flew before. I switched when I saw I could save money by going to Tijuana because it's not a resort town like Puerto Vallarta is and I could save even more by not having to get an entire passport book and card combo, so double plus! Unfortunately, my date isn't until July 24th of next year :(. I have to save for it.

the ride for the hotel to the border into the US is about 15 minutes. However, and it is a big however, the wait to get across the border can be a couple of hours, sometimes. I am not kidding you.

Your driver will pick you up to go across the border and to the airport at least two hours before you need to be at the airport. Don't schedule your return flight early in. The day or you will be going to the airport in. The middle of the night. Don't schedule your flight back.  Before noon.

Take plenty of what ever you are drinking, some. Broth packets, and jello to the airport with you. In case you are waiting at the border for several hours.
