april 11th surgery
Hi
I am also from Canada I have surgery also scheduled on April 28th with Dr Dr Ismael Cabrera. I would love to hear from you EVERYTHING how did it do? the trip and how you are feeling now. Please post a reply as mine fast approaching. Also what you think I should carry with me when I am preparing for my WLS trip to Mexico?..
every thing went very well I had a different doctor than you I was with dr lopez at mi doctor hospital in Tijuana I went down on my own and had no trouble. I even jumped a local bus and went downtown to the market on my own the day before surgery(but I speak a little Spanish) the hotel had wifi and the hospital did too so I could keep in touch with my family. I was the first up for surgery because I was the only one that had all my paperwork ready to go and in hand when we got to reception. they put me out about 10 am after doing blood work and an EKG. I also met the doctor and his nurse before they knocked me out. I woke up around 5pm groggy but ok. I walked a lot. them tell you to and you should walk walk walk walk walk. spent 2 nights in the hospital and than 2 nights in the hotel. dr lopez does not remove the drains until the day before you are heading home but I think he is the only one that leaves them in that long. I found that all of the uncomfortable pressure that I was feeling went away once the drain was out. i am down 30 lbs including my pre op diet. i am a bit tired but i also have 2 kids 4 and under so that might b more the cause.
let me know if that covers it
