For those of you who had a Revision from a Band to a Sleeve-Best Revision Surgeon?

Hi Everybody,

I'm doing my research to have a revision surgery to have my long term band removed (10 yrs) and have it revised to a sleeve.  I'll be going to Mexico.  (I was banded in Mexico so no problems with returning).  I just want to go to a good one for the revision.

Please respond if you've had a revision and tell me about your experience and your surgeon.  The good, the bad, the ugly.  Would you do it again?  I want to hear it all!

I have not had a revision, but for that surgery, I would want the best.   Have you looked at Dr. Aceves and/or Dr. Alvarez?

I had surgery with Dr. Juan Arellano Ramos in Mexicalli. He is awesome, I had my band removed in April. There was damage only slight so we opted to wait a few months to heal my esophagus, it was a good choice! I am now just passing time waiting to go back. I am from Canada and some companies are charging up to 17,000 for a sleeve. Dr. Juan only charged cost for the removal of the band and the sleeve is still under 9000 with Dr. Juan. I spoke with one of his coordinators, and she is wonderful. If you are interested in anymore info PM and I will try to help you.
