Hello, I have been monitoring this website and learning a lot from everyone for about 9 months. I'm having my surgery this week in Tijuana. I'm going to be 58 at the end of this month, and have battled weight all my life. My BMI is 30, but the struggle has been the same as if it was 40. I figured out I would pay for the cost of the surgery in under 2 years, just by saving $50 per week for food at work; I didn't even figure in eating out at night!  My husband is worried, but I tell him I am eating myself to death anyway, so I should go ahead and try to help myself! Wish me luck; better yet, please say little prayers for me on Friday.

It seems that the husbands are the biggest worriers, lol.  Good luck with your surgery on Friday!!

I went to Tijuana by myself to have surgery with Drs. Cabrera and Valenzuela.  Yes, you really can save a lot of money on food, if you don't have to throw stuff out because you are still cooking the old quantities.  My husband was also very worried, and relieved when I came back in one piece, less 85% of my stomach.
