Mexico - Hospital vs Hotel Recovery

I can only share my experience (obviously), but i had the same questions (hotel vs. hospital recovery) as you. Ultimately, i choose Dr. Aceves because i wanted my entire recovery to be in a hospital. I just had surgery yesterday, and i knew due to my prior lap band, i would have some scar tissue (i was right, Dr. Aceves worked really hard to get rid of it all, and i think my length of surgery was longer and possibly more difficult because of it). I may have felt well enough in two days time to stay at a hotel, but right now i am very glad i'm in the hospital (feeling really yucky on day 1, going into day 2).

Dr Aceves did my VSG in June and it couldn't have gone better! You're going to feel a LOT better tomorrow.

I went to Mexico with Dr. Louisiana Valenzuela and I stayed at the hospital three, according to what they told me, it depends on your condition the nights you have to stay at the hospital. Most people, are more comfortable at the hotel.

Hopefully This helps you, and if you allow me an advice, I think it would be wise to call everyone of the companies or doctors, and ask them about this.

 

Hi, seems most stay 2 nights at hospital and 2 at hotel. I believe dr. Ortiz you only stay one night at hospital and 3 at hotel. I believe they arrange transportation back and forth. Seems people have did fine. I myself want the two nights at hospital.

I had VSG in Tijuana with Drs. Cabrera and Valenzuela.  I spent 2 nights in hospital post op, and two nights at the Marriott.
