Travelling to Mexico
I went to Mexico 3 weeks post hysterectomy. It was a breeze. what I did do was pick a hotel with a dr on site (pretty common for the bigger chain resorts)
I also used an online language interpreter and typed out a small letter in Spanish indicating I had just had a hysterectomy, allergies, age, etc. Didn't use it even once
Here is a link with some info on it regarding hospitals or clinics
Dr Alberto Aceves is a bariatric surgeon down there.

If something does happen, and I know it won't, if the Dr treating you can contact Dr Aceves, then Dr Aceves can at least explain how your insides are wired.

You're all set.. and at most resorts you CAN drink the water but check first. And enjoy the gaucomole!!.. I'm sooo jealous!
I keep forgetting stuff.. sighs
I would say your biggest concern might be either: constipation or diarrhea
Stay hydrated, despite the "outcome". If your friends have been down there for a while they should have an idea of the closest medical help but I would still type something out using an online translator explaining your surgery if that's the problem.

Give it a shot.. lol.. see if you can translate this back to English using the translator lol
