One last step.... talking to my doctor.
I hear ya! I don't think the US doctors are a understanding as the Canadians. It's about the big $$ here. When I got my band the hospital charged $3K, the surgeon another $2,500 than the anesthetize another 1,300 + I think I added up $46K total. On top of that my PCP is against WLS.
BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
Haven't told my primary doctor yet. I hope it goes okay because I don't want to have to find another doctor. I was a fairly low BMI so I hope he understands why I did this. FYI I went to Dr Aceves in Mexicali and my experience was fantastic. I was self pay and went alone so if anyone else is thinking of surgery with Dr Aceves, I had a great experience and no problems.
