What do you do for follow up appointments when out of country?

Was just wondering what one does for follow up or complications.  I had heard surgeons in the US will not do follow ups.  What do you do for Labs?  Does everybody fly back and forth? Just curious what everyone does.  Thanks

Before I went to Mexico for my band, I made sure to have aftercare lined up with a doctor here in the States. I explained the situation and he agreed to help me. We agreed on self-pay prices ahead of time, everything was great. I would do that prior to going!
