September 21st sleevers?
Hi Redcreamsoda! I am 9 days post-op. Just wanted to tell you good luck and that you'll be in great hands. Dr. Aceves and his entire staff are terrific. I had a wonderful experience. Keep us posted! And if you have any questions, I'd be happy to share about my experience (I posted a lot on my thread asking if anyone else was having surgery on August 6th, so you can check that out if you want). Of course everyone's experience is different, but it's nice to talk to others who have been there! I know that helped me a lot.
I'm doing great. I've had the usual frustrations that are to be expected, but everything has been very smooth. As for packing, I brought a heating pad because I read on here that it helped some people with gas post-op. I ended up using it only once, and it didn't really do anything for me. So I guess it just depends. Other than that, pack really light. I packed light, but still could have brought less clothing because for the day of surgery and the day after all I was wearing was the hospital gown and some undies. You don't really feel like changing into "real clothes" until your drainage bag is removed. I brought one pair of socks which came in handy when my feet got cold. Their packing list suggestions are pretty thorough. I brought meds like Tylenol, anti-gas, anti-diahreal, antacid, but didn't end up needing them while I was there or while traveling...but it's probably good to have a small travel size of those meds with you when you're flying back. Just in case.
